old Schwinn tandem

I'm fixing up an old Schwinn tandem for a friend. I haven't made enough posts to send pictures. Anyhow I'm trying to figure out how old it is. The S/N of the bike is 133986x. it doesn't come up on any of the Schwinn S/N search sites. I understand all Schwinn S/n records before 1948 where lost in a fire. One thing about the bike that really caught my attention is that it has leather saddles. From the S/N could this bike have been made in January of 1933? Thanks

Does it have a step through frame in the front or the rear? Is the rear seat tube straight or curved? Here's a painting by Kurt Kabica of me and my friend Don on my modified Schwinn Twin.

I like the painting. Boy you guys have some strong looking legs and gnarly tires on that Twinn. When I worked at a Schwinn dealership we would sometimes ride the tandems when they came in . We were trying to see how fast we could go on the Schwinn Twinn. It got a little scary because the frame was flexing.

I'm looking forward to pictures of the bike in question.

redtop , if you have photos, you can attempt to post them, the forum site will tell you that you have too few posts, but it will still store them in your gallery. From there, one of us can find them and post them as a "photo assist".
