Sorry guys I am new here and can't post links to external sites yet, so you would need to copy the link below and paste it to your browser: imgur.com/a/PpFCfxV

I got this bike for <$80 with s&h, it should arrive later this week. Wheel is not included. I plan to give it a slight overhaul if such a thing exist: I keep the brakes and levers, giving them a polish before that, get new cables, casings, wheels with fancy tires maybe blue ones? Or yellow? Can't decide yet.

It was an impulse buy. Only later I found out that for twice the price I could get a decent Raleigh, fully equipped in a decent shape. This has caused me a brief buyer's remorse, so you guys may give some consolation. My wife doesn't know anything yet.

Best regards!

I'd never have any remorse buying an Italian bike.

It's a simple equation, really. How many Raimondi frames have you seen? How many Raleighs?

That's totally worth $80. Looks like a nicer frame.

...I've never heard of that particular marque, but it looks like a worthy project. If nothing else, you will soon discover that there is no such thing as a "bargain frame".

.
...here's a link to a deluxe Raimondi track bike. Your frame looks to me like it has some elements of a contract built Italian frame, that was then branded and sold under that company's name ( he was a pro racer for a while). This is not uncommon, and there are some very nice cycles out in the used bike jungle that originated in similar circumstances.

I think this is far better than most any fully equipped decent Raleigh I could buy for $160, so banish all remorse!
At a glance this seems like it might be missing the tubing decal cause it's something more "mid-level", but with a chrome fork and forged DOs it should be something like "tre-tubi" SL or Aelle, I'd bet.
The seatpost size, and the presence or absence of "rifling" in the steerer will be best clues about tubing, so follow up when this arrives.
