Another change up to my Mercier. Index shifters back where they began, bullhorn bars with cross brake levers.

Nice fast ride and gets lots of compliments and stares.

One very important addition to this travel Mini-Velo, a DR protecter!

Already saved the Sora from a bang up.

Free long cage derailleur protector from the bike shop.

I did find a 130mm hub wheel on Thorusa that is a Dahon replacement. Went from 32 spokes to 28, hope it holds up.

Well that was 06/2019 and that Dahon(?) 28 spoke wheel held up for 4 years. But eventually the overloaded beast of a bike with me (250lbs) on it just wore it out.

Went riding today and heard a weird clicky noise and after investigation found a snapped spoke. And while working on it to remove the cassette, snapped another one. So it was time to go.

Luckily a few years ago at the local non-profit (Shout out to Velocipede Bike Project) a 32 spoke, 20inch, freehub, 130mm O.L.D. was trying to get my attention so I brought it home. Hoping I'd never need it.

But here we are, I need it and I have it. Rarely do things like this work out. (If I ever buy an 'extra', I NEVER, EVER need it. Almost frightening).

Anyway I hope this works

Looks like a good hub.

32 spokes, should get a few years out of it.

Let you all know the prognosis.

I’ll let you know if it protected the DR while it bounced across the road after the car hit me…

I'm glad you were able to walk away. Hope your Nano can be saved as well.

Thanks all!

It was a trip in the ambulance for me as I hurt like crazy when I was conscious. But thankfully no broken bits, just soft tissue damage. Truly thankful it was not my Son who got hit.

Now it’s the usual pain dealing with the drivers insurance co.

if I don’t hear from the bike shop today I’ll be calling tomorrow.

Inactivity is making me crazy!
