Common fixie wheel axle nut sizes?
i just got a beater pure fix fixie as a town beater. i want to replace the front wheel axle nuts with security nuts, but I'd like to confirm the actual diameter and tpi of these threads so i can order the right nuts. lady at a bike shop measured them and told me they're 9.5 x 23 tpi, which is a standard that I can't find anywhere. I've tried calling distributors and pure fix, but they either don't pick up or don't know. Still waiting for pure fix to reply back to my email. Meanwhile, I'm wondering what are the standards that these fixie wheel axles typically use.

You really need one of these to measure it correctly.
23 tpi isn't standard. It would be 24 or 26. And 9.5 mm is equivalent to 3/8".

they're 3/8" (or 9.5) at 26 tpi. can't seem to find a security nut of that size though. i feel like if i do, they're going to worth half what i paid for the bike.

The lady at the bike shop measured them, but then didn't have any nuts to try out? Odd.
I've never seen a front hub with a 9.5 mm axle, but I understand that there are some. The axle I see most frequently is a 9 mm x 1 mm (26tpi). 9.5 mm axles are common on the rear. Whether you have a 9 or 9.5 mm axle at 26 tpi, you should easily be able to find nuts to fit.
