I plan all my routes and use google maps to navigate. However, now and then we need to modify the route for whatever reasons. I would like to arrive home and have the whole route we rode displayed on a map. Further, I do not want to interact with the app except for perhaps starting it each morning. Finally I do not want to spend even one yen for this as this is not really critical to any tour. Oh, and we use an iPhone. Does such a thing exist?

I've used mapmyride.com for this.It provides an app that will do this. The interactions are a starting, pausing (if necessary) and ending. It is free for this basic service. There is a for pay "premium" service that I don't use.
