We will sell this beauty to help pay our expenses. This is as it appeared at our warehouse. Since we will be selling this we would like opinions as to the value as it is shown here. All proceeds go back into the operation. Thanks in advance for your help.

Bike is all Campy except for Suntour GT rear derailleur, Lyotard pedals, SR stem, Pletscher rack, Joytech rear skewer. Rims are ? tubulars with Campy hubs. We have not unwrapped the bars yet to see what they are

...if I were trying to sell that for the bike co-op here, I'd definitely remove the stuff like that Pletscher and the bottle cage, the pump holder, and that horrific QR seat post clamp bolt. It looks like the rear derailleur was the result of someone wanting to run larger cogs and a wider gear ratio in the back.

I'm no Holdsworth expert, but I can't recall seeing one with an all chrome fork. But I've only seen a few of them, and it might very well be the original.

Otherwise, I wouldn't do much more than clean it up a little and maybe wax/polish the frame. If that is the original fork, I can see someone here paying 350-450 for the bike as it is, even though it will need a lot of overhaul, just because it's a Holdsworth Pro. If the fork's a replacement, it's immediately worth less.

I wouldn't worry too much over what sort of bar is on it. Whoever buys it will probably have his own ideas about what will work for him/her and will change out stuff like bar, pedals, stem, wheels even...all to make it a more better rider suitable to individual tastes. Note that the stem is set pretty high, but it might be one of those long stems that someone used to make a smaller frame fit his/her anatomical requirements.

...I Googled up some images, and it does appear that Holdsworth Pro's came both with painted forks and full chrome ones, depending on year.

Thanks to all for your comments. The rims are Weinmann. I just had a senior moment there.
When it comes to a find like this, we’re just so busy that we don’t have time to do the full clean-up on the bike.
Once in a while a volunteer will take one on as a project of love, especially during the winter, then it goes to eBay.
We will sell this bike as-is to someone who wants the pleasure of doing the clean up or more extensive restoration and we will try to price it accordingly.

Nicely fixed up ready to ride with the extras removed I would say $400 or so. You may want to check the bike coop to see if they a nice vintage correct RD to swap out for the GT doesn't have to be Campy something like a VX would look a lot nicer the GT is a bit clunky cosmetically for a bike like this.

Holdsworth serial numbers are easy to track. They stamped both the BB and steerer.

That Bike would have been N. Record originally. The Lyotard pedals are probably correct.

Looks to be original paint too.

The value of the bike hinges a lot on whether that fork is original or not. It doesn't look original to me but I could be wrong. If not original, that suggests a crashed bike and it will depress the price of the bike.

It is a real Holdsworth Professional from the early to mid 1970s alright.

Cleaned up with the "junk" removed and a Campy NR rear derailleur it could bring $700-$800.

Get rid of the cheap Lyotard pedals too.

I have a 1973 Holdsworth Professional frame that has been sitting waiting to be put together since 2008. I gave a pretty penny for it. They were rare birds and still bring big bucks for those who know.

Looks like the original owner installed an extra ling stem. I can’t go to the warehouse to check for a while, but after blowing up the photos it looks like the limit line is out about a cm. I’d hope any any collector/restorer would spot that, but I’ll be sure to check and point it out. Thank you.

The fork is most likely original. I have a Holdsworth Pro that I am in the process of building up. Based on the serial number mine was built in late '72 and looks pretty much identical to the ones that have been posted in this thread. Mine has the chrome fork (serial number matches frame) and it has chrome seat and chain stays.

As a follow up, I just purchased this frame from my good friends at R Community Bikes. I currently have it in the stand, all extraneous parts have been removed. The amount of bar tape on the bars was utterly amazing. I removed just 1 side which took me about 30 mins. I counted over 4 different colors and variations of tape. I'm guessing when the PO wanted a change they just went over the existing instead of removing it.

I'm going to be purchasing new bars, hoods, a period correct RD, and the usual chains/tubes etc.. brooks pro may need to be replaced.

also, it looks like the tires are newer bontrager, so i think i'm good with them for now.

Should i keep the stainless housing? ive read mixed reviews here and there about them.

i may touch up the logo or leave it, ill wait till i'm done rehabbing her before i make that call.

The bottle cage and seat binder QR are really kind of interesting. I don't know when Campy made those appear, but wouldn't be surprised if the cage and binder bolt are as old as the bike. (Well, maybe the binder bolt is more like campy MTB era. Consider it a down payment on some of those needed replacement parts.)

I would trim the housing and new end it with caps on both ends and keep it if it looks good no major cracks or rust and go with new cables.

Update: The handlebars are a mess, I ended up just cutting them right below the brake lever so could get the lever off. They were just cheap SR bars so nothing lost there. I'm currently waiting on new hoods from Velo-Orange and I'm still trying to find a nuovo record rd to install. This past weekend I was able to purchase a nice used 3ttt handlebar and I pulled a Cinelli stem I had in my parts bin.

This frame is in ok shape, it has a huge sticker on the non drive side that's been there for years. I would like to remove it, but man it's almost impossible. Any tips here? i was thinking hair dryer with nail polish or WD 40.. .

...never tried it with a hair dryer, but a heat gun works well for all and every sticker, including those 3M reflective ones that are painful to remove otherwise. I would hold of on the acetone (nail polish remover) until I'd tried the heat gun for fear it might soften the original paint.

...try removing the lever body from the bar at the clamp, and sliding them on from the back with soap. That usually works better with the more fragile ones.

tried the warm soapy water method, worked like a charm.

I'm going with new cable housings instead of refurbing. This bike has had a ton of miles put on it, I think it's earned some new stuff.

I wanted to mention this bike also came in with two Schwinn Paramount P15s an orange 58cm the handlebars were also wrapped in the similar fashion. The 58cm is probably going to Ebay at some point. The 61cm is a light blue that one of our regular members claimed it as it was his grail bike and we don't get many 61cm very often. He has yet to pick it up and I told him if it's there the next time I stop by i'm purchasing it . The 58cm is on the line for me and I couldn't justify the price for it at this point. With just purchasing the Holdsworth.
