How to cut off suicide brake levers - Weinmann
Hi,
I have a Weinmann suicide brake levers.
I couldn't open the main bolt, because it is closed. I think you say riveted.
I saw the lever off, but it is still ugly.
Can someone refer me to a web page with photos so I can understand what to do?
Thanks for the help,
Kfir

If I loose the rivet, I will need a new bolt witha hole in the middle. Something I'm not sure I can find.
This is why I cut the lever, so it still shimming the middle bolt.
I don't have a drill now, but it is also possible. I can also try to saw in between.
What people do in this case?

I've always used a hacksaw to cut them off and then a coarse file to make the stub smooth with the alum hood.
Then buy some rubber hood covers to hide the cut.
(I probably did this 100 times at the bike co-op I used to be involved with)
Enjoy

So I guess I'm in the right way.
How do I know what rubber hoods will fit?
Also, do you cut just once (taking off the lever and thats it), or you cut around the rivet, so it becomes like a shim?
Thanks,
Kfir
