I'll be there for a few days. I'm in need of a few things. Looking for shops to hit up between classes and meetings.

Good Karma.... a bike charity, but sometimes has nice vintage bike and parts

...American Cyclery is the oldest one of which I am aware. If you can get over to Sausalito on the bus, Bicycle Odyssey is great. I don't know what's happening there now, because the owner, Tony Tom, died recently. There are a few places that will rent you a bike for the length of your stay. When I do that, I bring my own pedals to fit my shoes.

need old style cleats that for Dittos? Got em. Campy head for a silca pump? Check. Medium campy toe clips, of course. Good looking vintage style gloves, check. more than one brand of sew-ups? Yup.

Thanks for the tip!!

Yes, AC even stocks Campy brake cable top tube clamps!
AC carries sew ups but mostly the cheap stuff like Giros and Rally. They even sometimes run out of those (I guess they order anything else better if so desired.). If I were looking for better quality sew ups and did not want to wait, I would have gone to Odyssey in Sausalito as Tony seems to have had more stock for tubs, but as mentioned that shop is gone now......
The sudden death of Tony Tom and the subsequent closing of Odyssey Bicycle was a big big loss for the whole SF Bay area cycling community.....
