His father was a civil engineer who first send him to university to study civil engineering, but he soon switched to a school for architecture and decorative arts within which he switched from the first to the latter. There's a bit of a translation issue here, but it's not alien to his background, he just took the creative direction. I don't think that should be very surprising because much of his work has something mathematical to it. I like the picture, it's just not that farfetched.

For anybody that likes Escher or optical illusions in general, I highly recommend the app game 'Monument Valley'. It costs a few bucks, but is well worth the joy of playing. (there's a sequel too, which is good, but not as amazing)

I always like to throw this drawing in when specifying prototype builds...

Just to see if "manufacturing" is paying attention.

Well, that was not how I expected that to end. I can't tell... did he try to dump the bottle into the fire barrel? What the hell else was in there that spattered all over the place? (I would've thought if it was just the alcohol, it would've burned off faster than that. Unless maybe he's an idiot and that's gas or something...)

That makes a lot more sense. It was hard for me to tell from the color of liquid in the bottle-- could've been gas, could've been whiskey.
In which case, he's a complete idiot.
The first thing I thought when watching it was, "did he accidentally tilt the bottle as he rode past?" Then realized he did it on purpose. Then realized, wait, that can't be just alcohol... (but I'm sure there was alcohol in the bottle previously, which is now in him, which explains why he is a complete idiot.)

They call this the "bike bus". They have a designated route and times, with parents and crossing guards along for the ride, and people meet up and join in along the way.

With the 4 quadrant pictures she can make it look like she's levitating or flying like superman (if she didn't have her knees in the wrong quadrants)

That was part of what threw me off... I honestly thought she put her knees there so it would look like she had certain (very large) male anatomy, and I thought, "WTF?" Then looked at it again and wasn't sure if that was what she meant, or if she just didn't manage to keep her knees out of the frame...
