People ask a lot of money for bikes up here. That is about the pricetag of a used Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30 and I would take that bike any day over this one.

that’s way too expensive. I’m seeing lots of (too small for me) 700+ available on Craigslist for around 100-150. There’s ton of 800 antelopes available near me.

I’d love to find a lugged 750 in my size at a decent price (~$250-ish)….

Similar prices here in Wisconsin but it’s all about the paint/decals for me. Parts can and will be replaced

I went through several aluminum-framed hybrids after my steel 1995 Trek 700 was stolen. None were MultiTracks but there was a Gary Fisher Nirvana and a Jamis Citizen among the bikes I acquired and sold. IMHO, aluminum-framed hybrids lack the responsiveness of a steel rigid frame, at least on paved roads. I had zero joy with any of the aluminum frames while riding on streets, and was growing despondent until the joy returned when I picked up an old chromo Giant Rincon. If you plan to ride gravel paths with it, an aluminum frame might be worth a try though.

great find. I’ve been prowling Craigslist for a larger frame and recently picked up a 700 in 21 inch that fits much better than my 17 found in the trash. In swapping a lot of components though since the 21 has Rusty spokes and bars

By that, I presume you've used them before... These look real comfortable to me, but I haven't yet pulled the trigger on them. That's going to be a really cool 720.

first time using them. What do you think of the look. I LOVE it. Very comfortable.

Poor 17” 700. I had to steal your wheels. Don’t worry buddy I’ll fix you up once i get the cassette remover.

I think it looks great. Breaks the mold a little.

so what do you all think?

started with a garbage find 700. Then found a 21 inch with a busted cassette hub for a few bucks. Then i dropped way To much on some upgrades lol. I Love these bars. I much prefer the friction shifter over the twist as well. Next upgrade will be the brake levers and I’ll take the fresh cantilevers off the 700 resting in the grass (shhh he’s sleeping).

I’m leaning towards the Surely Moloko bars for my 700 and updating to thread less stem adapter. Oldshovel on YouTube did a very nice build with these bars: “Dad Bike to Gravel Bomber”

Funny you say that. I was thinking possibly doing that to my other 700 for my wife. I Love unique things and those definitely break the mold.

Here's my Multitrack 730 before I stripped off most of the parts and replaced them. It's being converted to an electric bike. I'm thinking of swapping out the handlebars but don't know what would work well and look good. Does anyone have any good suggestions of handlebars which would give a rider on this bike a more upright posture?

Do you know what kind of handlebars are on your bike? I'm thinking of doing something similar with my multitrack.

They were just some northroads style bars my LBS had for cheap. Nitro Albatross and the Soma Oxford are two that you can easily find online. Fantastic bars for a more upright posture.

I’ma big fan of my Surly sunrise bars. But then you’d have to get some other adaptors to make it work. But should you make the conversation, Slap some cool bmx bars on there and go for a spin.
