Brompton folding bike - silver to black wheel refit advice

Hi

I have a couple of questions on switching my Brompton Folding Bike silver/wheel set out for black rimmed versions.

1. The sets tend to come in pairs - front / back wheel.
As my Brompton is 6 standard gears, (2019 superlight model) , can i get away with purchasing a 3 gear hub set or do i need to purchase one which states 6 gear hub ?
I'm a bit confused as i thought the 6 standard gears runs off a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub.

My Brompton is a 2019 superlight
6 standard gears
h type
with mudguards / no luggage rack

I've found several options :
mini mods 1

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/wheelsbr...ods-rim-black/
mini mods 2
https://www.bikegang.co.uk/bikegangh...ves-p408880468
original (2nd hand)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325099152...oaAlJGEALw_wcB
or
https://www.bikegang.co.uk/bikegangh...ves-p187533568

If anyone can recommend or advise on this project or on these or other available wheel sets, i would be greatful.

cheers

Both the 3 speed and 6 speed use a Sturmey Archer internal gear hub with 3 speed but its not the same one.

The 3 speed use a BSR = Brompton Standard Range hub.

The 6 speed use the BWR = Brompton Wide Range hub.

The BSR cannot be used to have 6 speed with two cogs.

The rear wheel of SJS: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/wheelsbr...black/?geoc=BE is what you need, its clearly mentioned that its a BWR hub, its not clear for the other one from Bikegang and eBay.

If you are in the UK, SJS ship from UK while Bikegang ship from Taiwan, so SJS is better.

Thanks - i get that re: UK safer especially after some mod purchases from the far east which failed - though the brand on the SJS supply is MiniMods which i think is east asian ...
Do you think black rims survive brake-block wear ? I note some of the Brompton 'black rims' dont don't have black coating on the surface the break block engages with whilst other do :

vs

Any comment welcome -

There are many difference black surface finish that have different properties, some are much stronger and last longer than others but at the end of the day all will wear and loose their black color in case of rim brakes.

If you want an excellent rim with machined silver sidewall and black inner surface, this wheel with a Sun CR18 rim is excellent. this rim last much longer than the current original Brompton rim.

Just out of interest what's the difference between that and the other one which is £120 cheaper :
