Specialized Roll 3.0
I’m thinking of purchasing a 2022 low entry roll. I’m 70 yrs old and I’m in pretty good shape, and I don’t necessarily need a low entry but I like it. Any recommendations or experience with this bike? Love it, or hate it? Thanks for any advise you may be able to give me.

Hi, Eileen. I think the most important factors for a new bike are:
- Does it fit well and feel good to you? If the frame is too small, you may feel cramped or squished while riding. If the frame is too large, you may feel like you have to lean too far forward. There is generally a good amount of adjustability to a bike to fit the rider, but you want to start off with something relatively close to begin with.
- Do you like the bike? Is it available in your favorite color? Can you not stop thinking about it and looking at pictures of it? If so, then I think that's your bike.

Several years ago my wife purchased a new bike and she tried out the Specialized Roll and Trek Verve. I really though she would like the Roll but the Verve was her choice. I'd encourage to try out other mixte bikes while you are looking as you might be surprised what you find. Marin has some nice bikes that are similar to the Roll and Verve. Cannondale has the Treadwell Remixte that might also work.

How does the geometry for the Roll compare to the Crossroads? I’m currently riding a Giant Roam but I have started having issues throwing the old leg up over the side of it. I’m thinking a step thru would make life much easier, but I’m wondering if a regular Roll or Crossroads might work? Not sure I’ m ready to transition to a step thru.

Eileen, I am your age and bought a Roll Elite 2 years ago. It is heavy but very comfortable. I rode it a lot until I got a road bike. I don’t ride it much now, not because there is anything wrong with it, but I just like a road bike better. I will hang on to the Roll.
