Giant Roam 2 Disc Rims hooked or hookless

Hi there,

New to the biking world and I have a question about the rims of the Giant Roam 2 Disc bike. It has Giant GX Disc Wheelset Rims on it with tubeless tyres but i would like to know if they're hooked or hookless? In case I want to tube the thing. Can't find the info on the Web, would anyone know?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum! The Giant GX28 rims are traditional hooked rims.

You Sir are a star, thank you for the info. I have since been told even tho it says tubeless tyres it may come with tubes in... Ordered now so we'll see when it arrives.

Haven't rode since I was a teen. In me late 30s now and jumping on me kids bike was a bit of a rush and thought let's do it!

I didn't know you were talking about a brand new one (they've used rims labeled "GX" or "GX28" for years now). They definitely used to be hooked, and I presume they still are. I suppose it's possible that they aren't today, but I'm almost certain they're still hooked -- even the new ones today.

No worries, it's no biggie either way to be honest as I wanted it anyway. Its last years 2021 version I'm getting. Thanks
