Vintage bike for sale. I do not have much information on this bike other than it was purchased in the 70's by my friend's father. I asked for information on https://www.bikeforums.net and only had one reply from a person who thought this could be a Japanese Miyata-Merckx because the dropouts are stamped Shimano. If you now where I can get information on this bike please send me an e-mail thank you. Cash only.
Dropouts are stamped Shimano.

Brand New In Box 1974 Raleigh Internationals

I certainly wasn't expecting to see a drop-down box for my frame size choice on two 1974 Raleigh Internationals in unopened boxes. I called them, and they said they are "currently doing research to see what these things are worth." I'll take two?

Certainly never seen an offer like that before (although I sure someone will pipe up). Probably end up asking $1000 not
knowing that people have limits on production bikes.

I think these Raleighs were posted in the C&V value sub-forum not long ago. I could be mistaken though

even for a 58cm frame, those wheels look way too small to be 700c, let alone 27"

some help please

I am a newbie. I used to ride a mountain bike to work earlier but gave up a few years ago. I am trying to get back in shape. I have heard a lot about Raleigh and wanted to get one for sometime now....
I am trying to purchase an old Raleigh Grand Prix
I do not know the year but the person offered it to me for a 100$. He did mention that the tires were in good condition but the bike would need some work

It is in excellent shape, with good tires and brakes, and everything works very well. The components are alloy and the hubs are quick-release. It is a 12-speed road bike with the turned-down bars and shifters on the down tube

I was wondering if this a good price?
i am attaching the pictures here
Any feedback would be appreciated
thanks

You're asking in the wrong thread-- you need to make your own post asking the same question in the Appraisals and Inquiries subforum.

650c, from the factory. Not sure why you think otherwise but you're incorrect.

1973 Paramount ebay

I'm sorry but I cannot post a link. The ebay item is 250463512747. What is interesting to me is that there are a couple of "established" bidders but the price seems to be driven up by at least four "zero feedback" bidders. Could this be shill bidding? Looks like a nice bike but the bidding makes me wonder.

shelbyfv, the link to that auction is https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

It's a lovely bike, but I believe it's a little newer than 1973. I don't think Campy made those brake calipers that early. The wheels are not original, either. I think those hubs are from later than 1973, too.

But it is worth buying anyway.

The guy's spelling and English are irritating. Why is writing correctly so hard? OK, I'm a hard-ass, but really.
