Rooney I have a 19" Univega step through with CrMo tubes that takes 700c wheels. The shiny red paint is beat, but it could make a sweet cruiser. I'd bet 35s would clear no problem. But I suppose it isn't what you were asking for...

ISO: A NOS Raleigh head badge (for a 70s Sport) that isn't ~$100 on Ebay. Google seems to yield nothing but Ebay links. Thanks!

I was looking at a lovely Centurion mixte from probably the late 70's and thought about your ask. The problem will be brake reach... you may have to use dropbolts.

Now this Centurion was designed around 630 wheels so it may take a fat 700c. I'm going to look at it again on Sunday.

Great value for a nice bike but again, those brakes won't work on 650's.

Have you considered a 26" mixte? I know of the Schwinn Mirada and Nishiki had a 26" mixte as well........and likely a few others. The Mirada may have evolved from year to year and there are models with 4130 tubing and reasonably good components.

I don't see them too often. Guess you could have someone modify the bike for your purpose.

While searching for a Schwinn Bottom Bracket conversion spindle for my '64 Sport Super Sport, and a single center chainring bolt for my new old ta specialites crank, chanced across this seller who has two Raleigh Headbadges each for less then $22 delivered.

I appreciate all the options provided. I don’t know that any seem like exactly what we’re looking for, although the idea of building up one of those Soma Buena Vistas is appealing. Seems like it may be less hassle than finding an ideal 650b conversion candidate too since it’s already designed for it.

This is a great option, thank you! Good luck with the spindle and chainring bolt.

Here's one of those minor-yet-important irritants that puts an entire project on hold. Open to requests for any couple of small items that I might have in exchange. I need two rear axle spacers. Could be either 2mm or 3mm. Yeah, I could probably run down to Ace and get something close or buy some of the pure gold ones I see for sale online, but figured I'd check here first.

Found just what I needed at Ace. Thanks.

How about a ~1980 Peugeot AO-18? It has 27" wheels, and I could slip in my 650b wheels to see if they fit. My tires are 38mm tires and estimate the clearance for 42mm tires.

I can help with 1 out of 3: I have a 'cosmetically challenged' Weinmann clip, had been rusty but the rust got removed which also removed chrome.
Has the nut but minus the screw.
PM me if you want it.

Not positive if this is truly C&V, but here goes anyway.

Looking for the upper fixed race (e.g., the part that's pressed into the top of the headtube) for a Tange Levin CDS headset. Can't find one online unless I want to buy a complete headset.

If anyone out there has an extra upper fixed race from a Tange Levin-series headset and can spare it, please PM me. (I might also be able to use one from the Passage series, but current versions of the upper fixed race for the Passage are slightly shorter and I want to preserve stack height if I can.)

My trade parts stash is meager, but let me know what you need/want - you never know. Also have $ if it comes to that.

Yeah, I guess I should have specified that.

I need an ISO (nominal 30.2mm OD) upper fixed race, not a JIS (nominal 30.0mm OD). (I don't think the Levin CDS was ever made in anything but 1" threaded; it isn't today.)
