Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I shouldn't set up an account to say, "GeneJockey is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life"?

That sounds like Larry engineering.

Why don't you just get some paint protection film and wrap that part of the top tube? You can get small pieces on Ebay. Do a search for Suntek or XPel. Stuff is bullet proof. I have it on two of my cars.

I reckon a lot of boats do funnel down past that station headed to Lake Powell, I dunno how many trailerable diesel burning ones pass through, but who knows.

I was thinking maybe the truckers that drive on the Res might burn that stuff.

You could, but I'd bet that if you set up an account with a user name of "genejockey'ssock", he'd spot it from a mile away.

That's basically what it is, but it won't move around. The PPF is easy to remove and won't harm the paint.

I've heard of a 36" bra, but never a bra by the foot. That's not normally where they're worn.

If the bra is by the foot, activities might be headed in a very enjoyable direction.

Went to the movies tonight with Mrs. GJ, first time since the Pandemic started. It was decidedly weird. Almost nobody was there. There were no ticket sellers, just 3 ticket kiosks. There was a bar, with bartender. There was no person or machine taking tickets, or checking them - you could just walk into any of the theaters. You could probably just walk right in without paying. Where the concession stand would be, it LOOKED like a concession stand, but it was all glassed in. There was a robot standing by what I realized was the kitchen.

We went to our seats. Nobody else was in that theater. Nobody.

There was a QR code on the armrest that you could scan to see the snack and drink menu, and a button you could push for someone to come and take your order, and scan your credit card for payment. Then a robot takes the food to the theater and a server brings it to you.

At the end of the movie - and STILL nobody else had showed up - we walked out into the hallway, and as I waited for Mrs. GJ to hit the restroom, no more than 7 patrons passed me. Maybe half that many staff, and about the same number of robots.

Mrs. GJ correctly said, "It's dystopian!"

Streaming and COVID may have done in the movie theaters.

The Aspero has horrible paint for that- the color is great, but anything touches it and you get a ascuff mark.

bampilot06 look at ride wraps- can totally cover your bike in self repairing vinyl tape. I have some in sensitive areas, you can’t tell it’s there and it works.

I went all the way through and got a six, with yesterday's word. I couldn't believe they would use the same word two days in a row, so I started over, with that word as my first guess. To see if I could get a one. Nope. I did get one letter out of it though,

Yeah, but what movie did you see?

I think that I've been to the theater... four or so times since the start of the pandemic. All were blockbusters: Dune, Maverick, etc. Taking care to avoid the busiest showings, the experience was more or less like seeing a non-blockbuster pre-pandemic.

"See How They Run", admittedly no blockbuster, but really, the whole cinema was practically empty. I mean, it's a 12 screen cineplex, on 1/2 price Tuesday, with a number of the current blockbuster showing and at no time did I see more than 6 other people in the whole place, and generally fewer. It was almost creepy.
