NBD - 1990 Basso Gap
New to me, a 1990 Basso Gap in the Europa (aubergine and blue) colour combination (according to the catalogue page posted by @tronnyjenkins over on the Paceline forums some years ago).
90xxxxxx S/N, Columbus SL double butted tubing throughout, 27.2 seat post diameter, through-the-top-tube brake cable and housing routing, braze-on FD tab, Basso engraving on the seat stay caps and fork crown, etc.
Generally the bike seems to be in good shape although there are several areas with paint scapes that seem to be the result, based on conversation with the seller, of careless handling of the bike in storage and transport.
Mostly Shimano tri-colour 6400, 7 speed indexed shifting. Exceptions include the DuraAce FD (braze on tab) and Campy 27.2 aero single bolt seat post. The cranks are 167.5mm. Apparently the original owner was a woman who raced triathlons and perhaps this is the reason behind the shorter cranks?
The 8cm 3TTT Merckx stem seems an oddity on the bike.
Up next, tear down, cleanup and rebuild, with longer cranks, new seat post, saddle and stem. Looks like 28mm tires will fit without issue.
I understand these ride very nicely and I look forward to spring weather to give it a go.

Cool paint series...just after the Rasta/Americana three color schemes and 1990 is the year of the pink-green, red-blue, and some other one; yours was one of the more rare combos, if I remember correctly.
Interesting conglomeration of components. Maybe bought as a frame?
Lots of canvas to work!
