Dahon Qix D8 missing screw

Hi. I've just registered so can't post pictures. So I'll try to explain, it'll hopefully make sense to anyone who has one. The main fame folding mechanism has a screw either side of folding mechanism. On my bike, the screw has fallen out of one side. There is now a hole there, and obviously the bike is very flexi! I assumed that it would be a simple job to get a new screw. However, the hole that is there is not threaded, so I can't fathom what I need to do to replace it. The other side has a thread inside that the screw goes into, but how do I replicate that on the other side? I purchased the 'Dahon Frame Latch Set For. Qix D8 - Black/Silver', but this does not contain anything of use. I tried taking it to Halfords who had no idea what to do (of course).

Does anyone have this bike and know how to fix?! My bike has been out of action for months, for something that seemed so simple!

If anyone is feeling generous, they could add these photos to the thread (though I can't post links either!)

Hi, and welcome aboard. I'd recommend contacting either a local bike shop that carries folding bikes, OR (if you're in North America) go to thorusa.com and see if they have the part. They're the North American Dahon distributor. The site also has a contact number, so you could always call and ask them.

If you’re in the UK (I guess you are from the Halfords reference), C H Whites bike shop specialise in folding bikes and may be able to advise you of what you need.
