Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wondering what my issue is then, I'm shifting on 6800s and have replaced 3 rear cables + 1 brifter with in the last three years. I'm thinking one was a bad install, but still seems higher than normal.
Edit....After reading a few more replies, it seems 1/year is on the lower end of expected lifetimes, but not totally unreasonable.

Thats something else I will have to replace soon. Can I use my Jag wire jacket and just replace the cable?

Yes. Cables SHOULD last 10k miles or more. I am too shifty, apparently.

Every time I ride my Ridley, I appreciate the bike, but the shifting just flat sucks.

You should head up to Maine, where you can easily hit Mexico and Peru in the same day.

I lusted for a San Rensho bitd. It was way out of my budget, as was an Eisentraut and a De Rosa. Some of my friends had De Rosas, so that made them less appealing but nobody in my circle even knew about San Rensho or Eisentraut. When Dave Tesch came out with a lower cost tig welded frame, that's what I got.

I owned two Eisentraut Rainbows.

In fact, I saw an old pic just the other day.

Nice! The first one that I owned was a soft gray color like in the pic in the article and I built it up with a white Shimano Sante group. It cracked at the upper seat stay joint and Albert repaired it and I asked him to paint it bright red. It broke again and he offered me a brand new frame, also red, and I built it up all Campy.

The pic that I found recently was a red frame but I don’t remember if it was the first frame or the second frame.
