78 PX10 or PSN10?
I picked this up today. It’s either a PSN10 or Eurospec PX10.
I assume the Campy brakes and hubs were a later upgrade? Interesting to see the Stronglight 99 crankset. Any input is appreciated.

No chrome on the stays on this bike. Likewise none on the brochure for the Eurospec PX10. So confusing

It's a Euro spec PX 10. The PS 10 is main tubes butted 531 with a 531 fork and a PX 10 is full 531 frame and fork. There was about 2 years when the chrome socks were ditched on European PS an PX models. The Stronglight 99 was an OEM alternate fitting to the 105 or 105bis.

Like my U.S. market '78 PX10LE but mine had chromed stays and Mafac brakes. Maybe the Euro bikes were different.

Visual inspection easily differentiates them. Check the Reynolds decal on the down tube. The PS will indicate main tubes 531, the decal for the PX will indicate main tubes, forks and stays as 531. In post #1 of the PX 10 look at the 7th photo. In post #2 , look at the 1st photo of the PS 10.

Jim nailed it! The 531 decal not having '3 Tubes' (sample) was the giveaway, and the layer of gunk on it would suggest it's not added after.
Furthermore, the PX10LE came in US came with Stronglight 99 in '78 (see here) although you'd need to dig on the FR/UK/NL/DE catalogs to read the text on each model and/or review specs grid and see whether the L, LE or whatever others had the 99. I suspect the Campy brakes were a PO upgrade after-the-fact.
People migrate! And people who would buy a high-end bike like this on the continent it's made would probably want to carry it with them versus leaving it behind and buying new far away from the source. I've bought tons of Euro-market bikes and models which weren't readily imported over here during the years. A lot of them came over with military families stationed abroad. Is/was there a major base anywhere near where you bought the bike? If yes, that may very well be what happened here.

I bought a beautiful Peugeot mixte for my wife from a fellow teacher who had been a civilian at a Canadian air base in France teaching in the base elementary school. She brought the bike home, stopped riding and a decade later sold it to us.

A day of dismantling. I’ll sell/trade the 63cm frame and the Campy Record brake levers and calipers (first picture). I’ll keep the rest (second and third picture). I love these wheels (MA 40 rims and Campy Record hubs)!

At a glance, Reynolds namestyles on 531 downtube decal are slanted for full 531 and horizontal for three main tubes - PRs have std forks and PSs have 531 forks (and a few more upgrades. 531 rear stays are 2mm wider at the tops than humbler tubes.
