For once, the weather person was correct - stronger winds today than yesterday. Brutal 40, solo miles.

Went for a nice 32 miler with a girl less than half my age and about half my weight.
She is a runner training for her first Boston Marathon.
Weather was breezy and threatening all ride long, and we got sprinkled on a couple of times.
But, all things considered, a good ride.

Interesting question to ponder:
If I am April's weight x 2,
and I am April's age x 2,

Am I April x 4, or, am I Aprilē ???

Sunny and mid-60's this afternoon: 20 tandem miles on the Screamer (tailwind most of the way back from halfway point) followed by 5 solo miles.

Another day of winds like we've had the past two days. Yesterday wore me out but I wanted to ride today. Due to the winds, the wife opted out of riding so I opted to try her recumbent trike in these winds. Met with her riding partner, Marcel and his friend Carl, and did a very nice 40 mile ride. Can't believe how much better a recumbent trike handles winds than a road bike; especially when you are going much slower.

Yes, low and slow is the best way to go at it. Unfortunately the Domane is a billboard and these last 3 days have been a continuous wind tunnel. Feeling much better and will IM you to meet up at Inverness, possibly weekend after next if that works.

I'll be doing the Clean Air Ride there this Saturday with some friends if you care to join us. We're planning on doing around 60-65 miles. If you are interested, PM me and we can figure out somewhere to meet. If not, I can make it any time you want to ride.

I didn't feel like riding, but I made myself head out into the wind today--half gravel, half asphalt. I noticed my forward progress was slow. Checked the speedometer, and saw 4 mph. I hit 33 on the downwind return. That moment of speed made the upwind ride worth the effort.

My 13 year old daughter just arrived home from school excited. She said she didn't even have to pedal, the wind pushed her home.

20 miles Monday afternoon. Pleasant weather and good ride despite the steady wind and gusts up to 20 mph.

Thought we were going to get a reprieve from the wind this morning. Everything was nice and calm at 8:30 when we started. About 19 miles into the ride, all hell broke loose and the wind picked up where it left off yesterday. The wind wore my buddy Steve out to where he only did 25 of the 40 mile ride. Taking the day off tomorrow to attend the monthly retirement luncheon. My legs will thank me for it.

Quarterly Board Meeting kept me at work until after 5:00, so just had time for a quick 20 miles on a beautiful, low humidity evening. Wind was almost non-existent for a pleasant change.

Supposed to rain tomorrow, and Thursday I'm traveling thru the weekend, so I'll be off the bike for a five day spell. But that's OK, I gotta' let GreyBeard catch up.

Had a 5 mile shakedown ride - maiden voyage around the local lake on my new Cannondale quick cx 4. Some mud on the dirt road heading out, and some short but steep hills coming back. Enough of a ride to know that I love the bike and that I need to get in shape after sitting around all winter.

11 miles after work yesterday evening. A little breezy but not bad.
Daylight savings time change coming up this weekend will make after-work rides easier to fit in.

First ride since last Friday (weather). 21.3 miles (34.3k) and it actually warmed up for the first time in months. The rest of the week should be good (moderate wind).

Well, surprise. Cloudy but no rain, and got in a fast 25 miles just before sunset in predictably blustery conditions. I had a nice dinner awaiting on the patio, and of course by then it had calmed condsiderably. My wife did acknowledge how windy it had been the previous hour, and my only comment was "yes, I know" .

Next week I get a lot more sunlight, so longer bike rides! Yea!!

Almost didn't, very glad I did.

Just cuz I been riding about 5 weeks now and did 21 yesterday, doesn't mean I couldn't do 'just' 14 today

Peace o/

Took yesterday off from riding to attend our monthly retiree's luncheon. Great time with the family.

Today the wife and I did our annual Tax Preparation Ride from Tarpon Springs, Fl, south to Dunedin, Fl, for lunch. She was feeling pretty good this morning so we extended the ride farther south to Clearwater. A total of 26 miles out and back. Then the good news came - we're getting a nice refund this year. 👍🏻

Rode my normal 40 miles this morning. Split it into two rides because it was done on two bikes. 25 miles on the wife's trike with her riding partner and 15 solo miles on my road bike. Of course, the wind picked up while riding the road bike. 🙄

Part 1 of this weekend's ride was under the almost full moon. 120 miles completed from a bit before 9PM Friday and 4:25AM today. Got back out after a shower and kit change for an additional 45 miles. Man, the wind really picked up also.

Mostly sunny but still cool (mid 40s) for 23 miles (37k). 1,334 calories burned. Serviced free hub and installed new chain, but it's skipping when I start. Adjusted barrel to align derailleur, still skipping??? I'm inept as a mechanic.

Did my annual Ride 4 the Animals charity ride along the Gulf Beaches. What a beautiful day for a ride. Starting temps in the low 70s and calm to mild winds. Wind didn't change much throughout the ride which made getting over the two very steep bridges a lot nicer to climb. 31 miles total.
