Inside the post: Which hand do you use to drink while riding? I am holding a golf club as well. Should I drink before or after shifting into the optimum gear?
which fingers should be used, & how much tension to apply? What park tool for knowing the tension being applied?

I had completely forgotten about that bit of sarcasm!

That's almost de-facto proof of trolling...

A better question is how often, and at what mileage, you are forced to reuse available hydration by redrinking. I'd say if this happens more than a few times a year, you should add another cage or something.

Almost? You are being too kind.

The whole thing is ludicrous. Are we to believe, inter alia, that the OP has never seen, in real life or in a photo, water bottle cages on bikes with water bottles in them?

To me, this is a sign that he's given up on this sock puppet because everyone (Well, almost everyone.) is on to him. Either that or he's testing how much he can get away with before he's banned.

I was on board with this being a troll but after a comment he made in the gear selection thread I am starting to think, that he thinks, there should be some formula or rule for deciding all these little details. I've known people like this IRL. Things that we don't really put much thought into and would just figure out by trial and error they need something to go by before trying. And when others don't see things in the same way they sort of lash out as in post 76 of the gear selection thread.

Just like gear selection, it depends. I don't ride under an hour, so for me my rides break down into 'Under 2 hrs' vs 'Over 3 hrs'

Under 2 hrs: 1 bottle plain water.

Over 3 hours: 2 bottles sports drink, not too sweet.

Consumption depends on ambient temperature. If it's >80, on a long ride I'll often refill one or both bottles with plain water and on REALLY hot days, maybe even yet another refill.

For rides between 1-3 hours long I carry a thermos of black tea and a bottle of water..
