Replica of a bottlecage
That's my first try , i'm neither disappointed or happy how it turn out.
But probably this model (link) will be more suitable for my bike (for sure is the next planned replica).
What do you think?

Nice. My only concern is that the tab could interfere with tightening the handlebar clamp bolt.

@CrowSeph - Nice first proto!
Regarless of where you mount the tab, under the nut or at the head, I think you need two mounts to keep it from twisting. Perhaps both under the head and the nut. allow for some deformation of the tap as you tighten the clamp.
The bottom tap might be from the bottom of the bottle cage to the nut. This would also provide stability of the bottom of the cage.
Like the spring!

The bottle cage that you link to (in the Speedplay flickr virtual museum) is an intriguing one, and strikes me as the most complex way to design/fabricate a bottle cage. However, I wonder how it would look if you used stainless steel rod to build it?? Maybe use some old 14 ga stainless spokes? I can imagine it sparkling in the sunlight!

Someone was making/selling replicas on Ebay several years ago. I bought a double-cage, but wish I bought a couple singles instead. I recall they were wire and relatively cheap, compared to originals. I'm not sure what happened to make them stop.
Edit: This seems to be what I remember.

My helmet is off to you -- nicely done. I faked it, myself

That's really cool! My only concern would be the eventual failure of that tab that attaches to the stem. It's a single point of failure that is carrying a couple pounds of weight with lots of vibration and flexing. If you don't put a lot of miles on the bike, probably not a big deal.

the bike video is coming soon! stay tuned , that's a truly beauty.
this is for aestetic purpose , but i'm already working on a replica of the simplex one. But there is ton of work and bending metal by hand is pretty hard. one day ago i spent more than 2 hours only to make half of the pieces....

Here my second version. I really like it and the brazing soldering make it more special.

Well done.
have you seen these bottle cages from Italy? Portaborraccia
If you need more photos for reproductions I have the Simplex double
the Simplex single
I have previously prepared the attached file for any interested fabricators, showing better photos and measurements.
I also have the downtube version of the VW brand bottle cage; the Speedplay online museum has the handlebar mounted version but being in pressed metal, makes it difficult to reproduce without significant tooling.
