What's up with this Robin Hood?

I was looking at Craigslist, and I ran into this Robin Hood:

Did someone merge a step through with a diamond frame? I'm tempted to buy it just to check it out.

That looks like an owner conversion to me. You can see that the seat tube extension is smaller diameter and inserts into the factory seat tube and the front end of the top tube looks to be permanently attached to the top head lug. This could actually have been an interesting male/female convertible model, had there been a convenient method for attaching and disconnecting the front of the top tube.

You should buy it and figure out what's going on, then post back.

I couldn't buy it just because of the rear mudguard mount. An interesting dog with fleas. I know, it'll move but it's the principle.

It's been beefed up so the Loxley fellow can ride the trails in Sherwood Forest.

There's a bicycle with a standard frame carefully placed behind the mixte in front. It's an optical illusion.

It's a tall bike conversion. It'll certainly help if he's heavy as well. No need for the rear fender like that.
