C-Record Era NOS Parts Collection
Divorce in process and I’m reducing my possessions as I’ll no longer have a house to fill up with stuff. Years ago I became enamored with Campagnolo C-Record era components and I purchased enough (mostly NOS) components to build up five or six bikes and spare parts to keep them running for a lifetime. I may have as much as an entire closet full of almost everything needed to build up a few NOS late 1980s / early 1990s bikes, including hard to find stuff like NOS Campagnolo branded clincher rims, a box of 12 Dura Ace 13-24 freewheels (best freewheel of the period), nickel plated Sachs chains, etc.
Question…I know in Germany and Japan there are bike stores that seem to specialize in selling / refurbishing 1980s / 1990s era racing bicycles…I have seen these shops on YouTube. Is there such a shop in the US? Seems that would be the place for me to offer up my collection in bulk.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I am located in the Los Angeles area.

Bike Recyclery in Portland. Justyn *****, I think hangs around here, definitely on Paceline. I sold a batch of Campy cranks to her last year at a fair price.

You can also talk to "The Pro's Closet". They used to sell on E-Bay, but have been doing a lot on their website recently.
There is, of course, also selling directly here on Bike Forums. You need a paid membership.

Not sure where they source it (I always assumed it was from old stock in other bike stores), or what they pay for it.

Sorry to read that you get divorced and that you want to part with that stuff you have collected with love.
However, I would be interested in C-Record and Triomphe parts, NOS or used.
Headsets, pedals, bottom brackets, seatposts, brake levers, shifters, ball bearings, Pista components.
About two of each. Let me know...
Or look for some cheap storage space and keep your stuff. Better days will come, and the prices will only go up in the meantime. I wish I´d kept the NOS C-Record stuff I had.

That said, sorry to hear about your divorce. It is a very painful process no matter how it goes. I DID re-find my bicycle love as a result though!

I would be curious what some of the flippers would offer for the whole lot. But, I'd anticipate they'll offer about 50% of what they will put it up for sale. Perhaps even less.
Some of the internet prices one sees are high... with sellers willing to sit on the parts for some time. Especially for NOS or lightly used. But, of course, a flipper won't be offering the same price they'll be selling it for.
So... by selling direct here, there is no commission, and everyone gets good deals all around.
Good stuff at good prices, and it will be gone in a week.

Lot of cheap buyers. I have some C Record, some unused. I have had offers under 100 bucks for an unused seatpost, Gen 1 circa 1985 in an usual size. I have three of them. For me, not worth the time and aggravation. If you can sell the whole lot for a reasonable price, you should consider it.

We should let the OP make a decision to sell through the proper listings in the Sales thread rather that inundate him with offers and PMs. That makes us no better than Facebook/Craigslist/Kijiji etc. I know this happens but it's not taking the high road.

Chorus derailleurs…I don’t know what I have by memory…will be cataloging it over the next few weeks. But I wonder why you ask about these. I have broken the internal spring on two in the past ten years…are these (the Chorus rear derailleur…the first index shifting version) know to eventually / regularly fail?

New carbon posts run $200-300.
If you think a NOS Gen 1 C Record Panto seatpost is worth 50 bucks, you are a cheapskate. My point to the OP is to prepare for a lot of work and bottom feeders. I just checked ebay selling prices, it looks like the market has changed. Prices are up.
Selling six grouppos part by part is a lot of work and a lot of fees on ebay. It depends if OP has the time and wants to deal with bottom feeders or just sell the whole lot. Personally, I rarely sell anymore on eBay because it simply isn't worth the time.
