September 2021 100+ Miles/km Thread
September is almost upon here. For those of us in North America, that means cooler weather starts for some of us. If you'd like to share you goal, please post. Any interesting rides planned? Post those too and give the rest of us some ideas.

My goal for September is 800 miles. I'd like to get in a good family & friends ride or two as well.

I had a great August , for me . Got to ride everyday except the last day of the month and I’m hoping for a break in this rain to allow a short ride .
My goal for September is 150 .
I also hope for that perfect day where I can get with my riding friend and ride the Silver Comet trail for my Metric age ride I’ve been wanting to do . 70 kilometers.

Looking back at last August I had my first 200 mile month and was at 1041 miles
just ended this month with 264 miles and I'm at 1816 miles for the year.
this month I will set 200 is my goal....so far it's been a good year.

September Goal 150 miles
9-01 6.1
MTD 6.1
YTD 1003.0
Reached 1000 miles for the year with my morning ride.
I’m back on geared bikes for most of my riding. The wind picked up yesterday and today . Wind and hills, I need a low gear .
I think the wind make it harder than the hills .

I’m going to try for 400 again and hope I don’t have to do another century on the last day of the month to make it. I have some incentive, my friend Manny just finished rebuilding my vintage Medici road bike, so I’m going to be doing as much test-riding as possible to get it dialed in. That said, I don’t know if I’ll get any riding in today or not.

Goals for September:
1. 70+ miles from Neshanic Station, NJ to Brooklyn, NY this Sunday.
2. Completing a nearly two-week, self-contained tour from St. Albans City, VT to Philly starting 9/12.
That is all.

Another beautiful morning. It was 57 when I got up this morning. I waited until it got to 64 to head out .
Made the ride into town . I wanted to test out my new gearing on my MTB on the two hills that I must climb to get out of the neighborhood. It did great !
Trying to keep the heart rate unger control since being diagnosed with AFib .

9/4 - 22.2
MTD: 22.2 mi.
September Goal: 400 mi.
Today was a shakedown cruise of my '80s Medici Pro Strada. First time I've ridden it since Manny finished rebuilding it. Still needs a couple of little tweaks, but it rides great, and I can't wait until tomorrow's Rose Bowl vintage ride to see if I can now keep up with the group.

The Medici ran great, up until the chain broke. But the cool thing about riding with a bunch of vintage bike nerds is they jump at the chance to work on somebody's bike, and before I could get my multitool out of my seat bag, one of these guys was already threading my chain through the pulleys and preparing to shorten the chain so it would stay together. Made for a couple fewer usable gears for the rest of the ride, but much better than walking those last 3 miles.
