Campy Trivia Questions
When did campy go from freewheel to freehub ?
When did they go from EXA drive to Ultra drive freehubs ? Mid 80's ?

Campagnolo was late adopting cassette freehubs. They weren't introduced until the 1991 model year. EXA-Drive came a few years later, in 1994. EXA-Drive Mk2 was introduced for the 1998 model year, while Ultra-Drive debuted for either the 2000 or 2001 model year (I don't have 2000 literature). These dates are for the initial introduction of these technologies on the top Record variants. Introduction on some of the lower groups could have happened later.

They went from FW to hub when the shipmano index Patten expired and they used the same dimensions on their rear derailleurs

The reason behind Campagnolo's move to freehubs was Shimano introduction of 8 speed with Dura-Ace in 1989. Campagnolo was simply playing catch-up. They tried 8 speed in 1990 with a Regina freewheel but it was only an interim solution. Eight speed freewheels weren't a reliable, race worthy option due to dishing issues and axle bending associated with the wider spacing. Campagnolo realized that Shimano's freehub path was the only way to proceed and and by 1991 had an eight cog freehub.

Yep, that caught me once too, I bought a NOS ti 8 speed cassette... then found out I needed an EXA freehub. The previous Record freehub wheel I had on hand was not going to work. later found a reasonably priced NOS exa 8 speed freehub, built that up with tubular rims. Note there was also EXA 9 speed.
