Vintage style cable and housing for 9sp STI
I want to re-cable my whole bike but I walked into a LBS and saw that the current cable and housing kits are too modern looking for a classic bike. What’s everyone using for a vintage-look but modern performance cable and housing kit?
I have 9-speed Shimano rear using an Ergo 10sp brifter if that helps. Thanks everyone

I just use whatever is available, I use a lot of Jagwire, sometimes I'll polish off the branding. I'll use Shimano, not as much.
I'm not really sure what you mean by vintage look for 9spd sti, most of the Shimano housing at that time was black. If you mean colors there are a few places where those can be found.
pre-80s there were ribbed housing on some European brands, that kind of stuff can be found as well

Thanks for replying. I’m talking about the ferrules, branding, etc. I guess I can reuse the polished ferrules but I’d like new shiny bits if possible.

I'll second Jagwire. They really make a nice product, especially their higher end material. Also, Shimano Dura-Ace cable/housing is also excellent and it's the same look from 30 years ago. Also, well priced.
Another great option is the stuff that Sim Works is putting out. It's beautiful and really nice housing. Great colors too.
Last, I have some some gray, vintage Vespa textured housing with a stainless core I got straight from Italy many years ago (example of where I used it here). If you need some, I'd be happy to sell you what you need.

Same here, I just mostly use Jagwire and run a bit of steel wool over the lettering to remove it. It only takes a few seconds to unbrand the housing.
