72 Peugeot PX10 restoration

Hey guys,
Finally got around to posting part 3 of this serious. I hope you enjoy..
P.S. I do not monetize the channel. I do this as a hobby to create comfort TV for Vintage bicycle enthusiasts. Enjoy.

Looks good!
Those Nomandy Luxe Comps sure polish up nicely- I just did a front one off a '68 PX-10 today.

How do you get such a good shine on these hubs? What process do you use?

I scrub the grime off with dish soap or simple green, get the oxidation off with very fine steel wool, then polish with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. The Mothers stuff is kind of magic.

Glad to see you’re embracing a bike that doesn’t have near perfect paint. This will look great when you’re finished with it! PX10s are beautiful.

Another great episode John. Thank you for that. To the question you raised halfway through, I'm a viewer who won't "fast forward" during the scrubbing of vintage bike parts---especially if they are from a 70s px10. Now, if they were parts from a modern bike, I'm not sure I could hang on---but that's just me.

I consume lots of ibuprofen.....! I was afraid of damaging the sticker/decal, so not quite as polished as I'd like, but shiny enough! In spite of the attendant joint pain, there's something really satisfying about polishing up vintage bike bits.

Did a deep dive on your channel and you've got some good content going over there. Particularly enjoyed the bottom bracket overhaul video. You explained the whole process very simply and clearly. Looking forward to more.
