Clif Bar Ads misleading
The TDF ads for Clif Bars tout the family ownership Only problem is they sold to a corporation this year for approximately $3billion.
I’ve got no issue with people profiting from their efforts. Just don’t lie to me. Going to make it hard for me to swallow a Clif Bar going forward

How did the company lie?
I’d bet those commercials were produced months ag, perhaps before the sale closed.

running them after the sale, regardless of when they were filmed is at best disingenuous

You can rest assured they were a corporation before they were sold to another corporation. I am a family person who owns shares in numerous corporations does that make them family owned as well? Perhaps you can inform us what you would consider as family owned? Would consider Walmart which is considered family owned better somehow?
Actually look at the ad, and tell me if you’d like to reconsider your post

Since the acquisition was only announced a month ago, and hasn't yet closed AFAIK, it still IS family owned, so there's that.

BTW, I can tell you from painful personal experience that you haven't been really acquired until the deal is complete. But maybe you could tell them they should change the ad to "Family owned, at least until something in August or September" if it makes you feel better about them.

I keep a couple of Cliff Bars on me when I tour. SOP is eat one, buy one. Last month in Vermont I found them everywhere. Even in little county stores. I attribute that to the popularity of cycling in the state. In the late 90s some organization claimed cycling generated more money for the state than maple syrup.

Remember the video posted by umd? He crashed with a video camera on his bike which showed chaos followed by calm, then a Clif bar wrapper blew away from the camera. The bar had been in his pocket and the crash squirted it out of the wrapper and it was cinematic magic.
His wife sent the video to Clif and they sent back a case of bars.

Clif Bars are great imo. Flavors on point, easy to eat no matter the temperature. More power to them as a company and good on them for cashing out!

My Clif Bar epiphany was when ski touring in the 1990s. They were actually edible when frozen!
For cycling, I ride with a Clif Shot in my pocket to ward off an impending bonk. The mocha flavor is my favorite. Plus there's that little caffeine boost.
