Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’m water logged. Stopped raining long enough for me to get out of my neighborhood then started again and rained the whole time I was out. Didn’t realize i had a tailwind until it turned into a headwind. Talk about deflating the ego.!

Rotated the bars forward. Bike feels even better, but, not sure if it was me reading the wobble crash thread, the bike felt a little unstable on descents.

Yeah. I got the high BP gene, too. From Mom. Luckily, I also inherited Dad's excellent lipid metabolism, so all my numbers are significantly better than average - and that was when I weighed 230. I haven't been tested since losing all that weight and riding so much.

Yeah, I'm vaguely familiar with hauling ass thinking you're in calm conditions, feeling like superman, then turning around and realizing it was a tailwind the whole way.

Yesterday's weather report from Western Branch, VA looked a little damp... break out the kayaks!

I like that the neighbor was also out on their doorstep saying WTF.

I have a sister who lives in Chesapeake VA, and she keeps posting about wishing the rain would stop. Meanwhile, out here my yard is turning brown.

Seems a pilot would be in the habit of checking the weather outlook before departure.

You must get your radar from the same place that DougRNS does. Time to upgrade.

We got wet too, but that was the least of my problems.

Those adjustments probably shifted your COG forward, affecting the handling. Try to shift weight aft by sliding back on the saddle when descending.

saying a prayer to get right with God beforehand prolly wouldn't hurt just in case.

That makes sense. I had a moment of panic where I slid forward and back trying to correct it. Luckily the “hill” was over before It ever got out of control.

Being in the drops really helps with control, too, and gives you a more secure grip if you hit the rough stuff.

This. Don't be ascared to stretch out a touch. As Mo Alpha said, a little weight towards the back, and being in the drops, is the hot ticket.
