Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Diverse activities.

Last night I watched this, and was reminded how weird everyone in the '70s looked and acted.

Probably not. Pap was from Pittsburgh and I doubt he got that far west playing baseball. On his page on baseball-reference.com he is listed as playing in the Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee League.

Dunno, and it's a little late to ask him, by about 37 years....

I feel like NHL teams shouldn't be in places where it is not possible, at least in theory, to play hockey outside at some point during the year.

Kansas City's NHL franchise, the Scouts, moved 40+ years ago and is now the New Jersey Devils. I wouldn't recommend going on the ice outdoors around here in the winter but back in the day it used to get a lot colder and people would actually ice skate so my point still stands. Anyway I went down a little rabbit hole looking up the history of the Kansas City NHL franchise and came across this little gem:

To this day, the Devils make almost no mention of their past as the Scouts or Rockies; the Devils' media guide and the history sections of the Devils' website do not acknowledge any captains, coaches or general managers prior to the move to New Jersey. However, inside of the Prudential Center, the Devils home rink, there is a mural on the second floor that shows the former arenas of the Rockies and Scouts, along with Devils' original (1982–2007) New Jersey home, the Brendan Byrne Arena.
I have no idea who we pissed off but evidently someone doesn't want anyone to remember the Kansas City Scouts.

As a side note we also got screwed out of our NBA franchise and our first MLB franchise although we got another one and I guess that sort of worked out for us.
