Over six facebook posts? Then indeed it is established with metaphysical certitude.

In sum, no, Buttigieg was not caught staging a bike ride after riding in an SUV. Countless headlines, YouTube video titles, and tweets were misleading and false.

“DC: Buttigieg departs cabinet mtg on a bike.

Pool: 04:34 Thursday Apr 01 2021”

I wonder why Dinesh D’Souza would lie? (I’m lying, I don’t wonder.)

It's all fake. Both parties are owned by billionaires and controlled by the inner party.

The image of Buttigieg staging a photo op with a gas-guzzling SUV is part of the controlled narrative. To discredit all advocates of sustainability as hypocrites who preach frugality from the decks of their yachts and private jets.

The goal is to falsely portray progressivism, socialism and anything to the left of robber baron capitalism as an elite conspiracy to take away our freedoms. Especially in the mind of the petty bourgeoisie or "bagger". The poor outnumber the 1% many times over. The rich need the lower middle class to fight for them.

Missing the point big time.

Former Sec. of Labor Robert Reich wrote a book about his time as a Cabinet Secretary, 'Locked in the Cabinet'. He relates it's a bizarre world where many layers of bureaucracy and security hamper top government officials from understanding the real world. Anything that's presented to a senior government official at a tour or conference or a visit comes wrapped in the presenter's point of view and you can bet is only there to further the presenter's objectives.

I don't think Buttigieg is trying to virtue signal a green lifestyle. He's trying to experience and learn. I applaud the new Secretary of Transportation for getting out there in traffic on a bike. Even if it was just a couple of miles one day, it's more real-world than him going to France and Japan on junkets, collecting photo ops riding high-speed trains.

LOL - "Do the research!"

I'm trying to decide if I wouldn't mind some secret service agents guarding my bicycle while it's locked up.

I usually lock up near bicycles locked by someone topologically challenged. Recent examples:
  • A single spoke.
  • A brake cable.
  • Really heavy chain loosely wrapped around the seatpost and locked with a Master Lock combination lock.
  • But my recent favorite, the end of the handlebar locked to a rack with a fahgettaboudit. At least the lock was secured.

Yet you think Facebook is a source of accurate information?

Are you ever able to accept that you are wrong about something?

Oh! And...Alvey Adee, call your office!

I suspect he knows bicycles ARE vehicles... but likely he is speaking to the "uninitiated," who believe bicycles are only toys...

The last four years, as well as the pandemic, makes it clear that this is the case for a sizable fraction of the U.S. population. Facts simply no longer matter.

Still an amateur until he's got Earl Blumenauer drafting him. Good for him for getting out there.

No matter how you slice it, his so-called bike ride was a complete publicity stunt.
Let’s call a spade a spade.

In this case they are. This is basically a political post, and many of us are wise to political lies, no matter who is promoting them.

I'm sorry that reality doesn't jibe with your viewpoint, but other fact checking organizations reached the same conclusion as Snopes.

He said "bicyclists" not bicycles . I'm not a vehicle, my bike is. He's making it clear that he's focusing on the people on the road rather than prioritizing the type of machine over keeping people safe.

Amazing how much someone who would put that second paragraph in the same post as the first paragraph.

Okay, we can go with your interpretation. He said, "The roads aren't only for vehicles." Hopefully someone will tell our new Sec. of Transportation that all those cars and trucks aren't out there on their own, they have people inside operating them.

I don't care whether Buttigieg referred to bicyclists or bicycles, nor whether his bike ride was a planned photo op.

I care that the US Secretary of Transportation obviously cares about making life easier for cyclists. That's a good thing, no matter whether it comes from a Democrat or a Republican.
