Try Deda 'Ochre' handlebar wrap. Has the Deda logo imprinted in it, but the color looks pretty close.

Perfect group. Functionally identical to super record without the cost. The hollow arms on the record cranks are the only thing that would really tempt me to go above chorus.

My mom raced a early fare with silver lugs when I was a kid. After a season or two it had an epoxy issue and specialized traded her into an m2

I posted this in the 650B thread but thought it'll fit nicely in here also:

1989 Lemond Ventoux with Campy Veloce 10 speed, Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur (with Shiftmate), and Shimano 600 front derailleur. It works wonderfully. The shiftmate was a leap of faith, but I'm glad I did... if for no other reason than I can more effectively combine stuff from my parts bin.

My Paganini...

Current build put together in the mid 90s then newly released (now "old") STi.
Downshifts on the RH 8sp lever are a bit "sticky"... Anyone have any hints on getting the ratchet to release more consistently?

Bomb it with wd40 or a solvent

This. But don't forget to re-lubricate the internals afterward. WD40 does a good job cleaning them out but doesn't hang around long after.

Ahh, of course... This is probably where I have been a little remiss. I use WD40 / GT85 to free it up, but it would also benefit from a light lube oil as a follow up.

Thanks!

How do you ride that Paganini? Cool bike, but I don't think I have ever seen a bike set up with that riding position.

Here's my Soma Competition, from 1982 I think. Still need to find some chrome brake cable clamps and maybe a more appropriate post, but this bike is a joy to ride.

Not sure that I follow...?
For sure, it's a bum up / head down position, but not that uncommon, surely?

ETA - iirc, the thinking at the time was smallest frame + long post + stem (I'd started to ride mtb by then, which was an influence). Within a few years the industry had responded with "compact" frames...

He is referring the extreme tilt of the saddle. A good fit would show a level saddle +/- a few degrees. It may be fine, but surely it can be better.

Ahh, fair question.

Until recently, the saddle was closer to the level, but there was an undue amount of pressure from the forward half of the saddle. The line of the sadle is now pretty much in line with the top of the bars - so I guess that the most comfotable saddle position (which this is) is a function of the low bars, high seat set-up...

That's my excuse anyway

I admit that I am clueless about many brands, this one included.

That being said, that's a proper looking racing bicycle.

Very nice work.

I had the opportunity to ride a CAAD10 in La Jolla last week while on vacation and I was very impressed.

Made me rethink current racing bicycles just a bit.

Bet it rides great, don't it? I love these pre-3.0 frames (had two, down to 1).

That's a touring frame, look at the gigantic gap between the rear tire and seat tube...

Correct. Wouldn't enter it in the local crit, but wouldn't hesitate to ride it across the country...

Showing my age.

Where did my readers go anyway.

I still think our 1983 Stumpjumper looks aggressive, so that shows how much I know.

Can I run 90's Campagnolo Athena 8s brifters with 90's Shimano 600 6401 8s FD & RD?

No. You'll be hit/miss, if that, on cogs. The FD will work fine.
Trade the RD for a Campy, and you'll be fairly good, even if the rear wheel/cassette is Shimano.
