Campagnolo self extracting crank bolts???

Campagnolo self extracting crank bolts???
Hi folks,
My refurb assignment this week is a 1994 Specialized Epic road bike with Campagnolo Veloce components. The crank arm bolts appear to be "self extracting", but I haven't work with this brand before. Is this what they are and how do they work? See pix.

To remove self-extracting components, turn the bolt counterclockwise; after initially breaking loose it will turn a little until it engages the crank then the effort will increase until it pulls the crank free from the taper. It might be helpful to apply a little oil between the bolt and crank to reduce the friction as you are turning it to pull the crank free.

They are indeed self-extracting bolts so, as dsbrantjr noted, they will get loose and then tighten again as they begin to push on the collar with the two pin hole recesses. Keep turning and the crank arms will come off. BTW, while everyone else uses an 8mm hex hey for the bolt, I believe Campy uses a 7mm so be prepared to buy one.

I have a left arm laying here unused that has the self extracting bolt and ring intact. Yours if you want it. Cost of shipping about $5. The ring has a left hand thread so it is specific to that Campy crank. Lemme know, MH
