What year & model is my thrift store find Orbea Orca?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What year & model is my thrift store find Orbea Orca?

I got this at a local thrift store today for $395 - did I get a good deal?
Can anyone tell me what year, model or anything else about it? (first 4 numbers of serial are 2001 - so it's a 2001 model year, right?)
1 thing, besides being made of carbon fiber(!), is that the spokes are flat instead of round - to cut a little more wind for a little more speed?
Thanks, I appreciate any help.

I’m going to guess it’s an 07 or 08 frame. 01 is way too early.

Is that a 9 speed or 10 speed cassette? Hard to tell from the picture. If it’s 9 speed, I’d say 2001 is accurate.

Groupset may be 9 speed but frame is definitely newer than 01. I think that frame design was released in 07 or 08.

EDIT: Wheels are definitely pre-2006./07. Or at least the front wheel is. Around 06/07, Mavic stitched to a carbon mid-section to the front hub.

It’s a 10 sp, I counted the cogs in one of the photos. OP, you may want to replace that rear skewer and the tires ASAP, they look to be in bad shape.

The heavily corroded thing holding your rear wheel in place.
