1987 Miyata 512 in Minneapolis 54cm
This appears to be a clean bike but probably needs some work, chain, maybe tires. Asking price is $275. What do you all think?

Looks to be in fairly good condition. Looks like a 23" frame. I think the 54 cm comes from them measuring the top tube. It'll need pedals too unless you have the shoes to go with these clipless ones. Since the seat is slammed check to see if the seatpost isn't seized. I think the price should probably be closer to $200.

That Univega is really nice, and you would avoid the specter of the Miyata's internal top tube cable routing, a known issue that can lead to a crack. In case the OP does not know -- that Univega was made by Miyata and I believe would have been the third from the top in that year, below the Gran Premio and Gran Rally.

I like the Univega much better. Better components, nicer condition, looks ready to ride. Two strikes on the Miyata are the condition of the consumables (mediocre, based on tires) and the top tube cable routing.
Cyclone GII versus what looks like Shimano Light Action. Easy choice.
I had to retire a Miyata frame for that issue. Slammed seat post is never a good sign. Have the seller raise it for you. Check for a seized stem too. Either one can have the issue, while the other is OK.
