Show us your... Basso!
Thought one of the lesser-known Italian marques could use some exposure. Here's my beauty, a 1986 Gap, outfitted with Shimano 600.

My daughter's Basso
I found this 1986 Basso Gap at Goodwill last summer. I paid $15 for it. It didn't fit me so my daughter got it.

Bought this Basso Gap, along with two other very nice old road bicycles. Rode the Basso for less than ten minutes and decided I did not like the bicycle. Why didn't I like a Basso? Because it had sew-up tires and I did not want to be bothered with the hassle. How little I knew at the time...
The Basso was sold a few days later to a fellow in California, but I do wish that I had given it a better chance. I think I missed an opportunity there.
Anyway, the OP's Basso is a treat to the eye. Nice bicycle and enjoy.

Great Basso's guys!
Alittle tid-bit - I read that Bob Rolle (Bobke) used to ride a well used, beat-up, but well maintained Basso Gap in his early racing years.

Gorgeous! I wondered how mine would look with Ergos and a white saddle. Now I have an idea.

Now that is pretty!
Great color combination. You wouldn't think it would work, but somehow it look's really good together. I feel the same way about my 80's paint scheme, like what were they thinking? But it seems to work. Oh, and the photography isn't bad either!
One thing these Basso's have in common is that there all in pristine condition.

Just saw this thread about Basso's. Here is mine, a 1987 Basso Gap, Shimano Ultegra 600 groupset with Mavic Open Pro rims. Went with Cinelli XA and Cinelli 64-40 but couldn't find an "aero" seatpost so I settled for a Nitto pearl. The frame was repainted and new decals were applied by Franklin Frame in OH.
If anyone ever needs to get a frame repainted and bits rechromed I highly recommend Franklin Frame, John does an amazing job.

My Basso gap. Brought passion back to me a few years back. Loved building it up a bit more updated than the original! Rides like butter. Not perfect and pristine, but neither am I.

Keep in mind that generally he has a lot of bikes waiting to be repaired/built/repainted so it might take about 2-3 months.
