Why would you change anything? I have the same Huret group, jubilee RD- My cranks a stock Nervar Star, and everything works perfectly and once I polished it all up it's incredibly beautiful.

What Huret do you have? If it's like this - DON'T change it, There are few DR's as smooth as this Challenger.
If it's really a Huret Jubile, I wouldn't change it either - but that's not because they shift worth a darn . - It's because they're just so cool.

Auchencrow,
It looks as though the first rd you put up is the same one on this bike. What can you tell me about itL

Finally wearing enough vintage parts to make me want to post it here.
Freaking alpha of the herd and omnipotent powers... it somehow got the BOC delivered to me with parts for it >.<

so finally here is my SC MKII. bought it last year for 120euros and pimped it since then a bit.
i still want to change the following (if the money allows it):
- new bar, oldschool with white tape
- new brakes, the vintage brakes will kill me someday
- new wheels, white/silver ones
hope you folks like it, still i don't know from which date/year the bike is. never found anyone with the same colourcombination. maybe you guys can help me?

Traditionalist get ready to gasp, don't worry I can take the criticism. Some say the wheels make it an abomination others love it. A mix of old and new. , velo orange rando bars, 197? Shimano 600 Arabesque groupset (love this group so ornate), 8 speed cassette (am really tempted to make it ten speed) on Shimano R550 wheels. I believe it is a 1971 Super Course, I cold set it to 130 soaked it oxalic acid on my patio for 48 hours to get rid of all the rust rubbed it down with baking soda to neutralize the acid and then put it together. The truly great find was when my local mom and pop bike store gave me the saddle which was originally on the owners own 1971 Raleigh Super Course. I felt like it tied everything together nicely. I still want to put on a rear rack with panniers but otherwise am very satisfied. Some of the old heads I run into hate it but I absolutely love it.

Looks VERY fine to me. Modern enough to be dependable, yet still vintage enough looking to pass.Nice job!!,,,,BD

The old Super Course looks great! I once had a '72 SC in the same color, which I rode everywhere.

My better half's '72:
As found. https://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...h/M01A1099.jpg
As it was. https://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...h/M01A1276.jpg
As it is. https://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...-39-44_510.jpg
Many parts on both bikes are vintage in nature, but no attempt has been made to remain consistent with their OEM buildups.

You're meaning to say that your wife has TWO Super Courses, and you only have ONE?
Sounds like it's time for another quest!
(great bikes BTW!)
