Thanks for reminding me to sign back up for the local foster volunteer list. I'd taken a break for a few weeks after the last litter but I miss the pitter patter of ornery little kitty feet.

Happily Senora Drinka doth not seem to have any interest in participating in these festivities - just imagine what a mess that would be!

She probably appreciates the break from being employed as a scratching post...

The Royal Visit

Meet Snowy. Snowy is 13 months old. Snowy is from Tootie's first litter. Snowy's owners left him with us this last weekend before they went on vacation. Snowy is staying with us for five weeks.

Snowy (right) wasn't exactly down with this arrangement at first. Which is understandable given that Winter (left) wasn't exactly thrilled about having his twin brother around, either.

Cool heads prevailed, though. A truce has been negotiated and the ceasefire seems to be holding as of today.

So much for being behind the curve after 2,400+ posts! I'd look ridiculous in a Spider-Man outfit.

Come on, everyone knows the internet was created (by Al Gore) to show off cat pics and videos.

juvela,

There was barely enough clearance to screw in those hooks. I had to drill pilot holes at an angle in order to gain enough distance to turn them in. Perfect spot to hang a couple of dish towels.

Maisie was left pregnant in a box outside the vet’s office overnight in December… Duke was the only kitten leftover after fostering, so we adopted them together. Despite getting chased daily (for sport) by our two dogs, they are two really sweet kitties.

My wife and I drove into the heart of Brooklyn today to "audition" some kittens. Some ferals since domesticated, from the neighborhood I've worked for 40 years, so a fitting match. Found 2 we really like, told the foster mother and adoption person we would like to take these 2. Both males, one of them bolts for the door whenever it opens, may name him Scooter.

Hope this works out, been 12 years since we had a kitten.

funny gloss on the affirmation tacked to the closet door; for a fraction of a second i read it as "bellevue"

Great of you to snag those kittens! The feral cat programs are swamped everywhere with waiting kittens.

Possibly “ Door dash” and “ Uber eats “ ? Both describes kittens to a T.

I've fostered a couple of kittens for my neighbors... (feral cat, now spayed). I found an extraordinary demand for "free" kittens on Craigslist. I'm sure I could have given away 20 of them the first day, with people as far as 100 miles away wanting a kitten.

More than one way to cool off on a hot summer day.

Iddybiddy went for swim with the tadpoles.

I heard some noise outside that I couldn't quite make out, but I hadn't thought about my cat going for a swim.

Yes, she is recovering from a tail abscess which I blame on the neighbor cat Nemesis.
