My new 1985 Gran Turismo
Picked this up today and just got around to cleaning the frame up a bit. Everything is original
including the tires and bar wrap.. By the looks and what the original owner told my it hardly
looks ridden. I'll polish and clean up everything else when I tear it apart to refurbish all
the bearings and see what else needs replaced. The color is burgundy but looks purple in the photos

Those are the sealed cartridge bearing hubs, I believe. Really nice hubs. If you ever need to service them they take a special wrench, Suntour TA260, but you can find a reproduction wrench on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/282515316691. It's a pair but you really only need one.

Very nice Robert. You did it again. I’ve noticed on a few occasions that Univega seemed to have well thought out gearing. Maybe it was just on a couple I read about, but I find it odd on some fine bikes that manufacturers choose non optimal gearing. Looks like half step plus granny on that fine machine. Keep us posted on some specs.
