What is this toe clip for?
I received a package of miscellaneous toe clips in the mail today. Most are the typical kind. One pair is for Shimano aero pedals. One is completely new to me. What sort of pedal is the toe clip on the right for?

Great, thanks. I knew they wouldn't fit anything I have, but wanted to be able to describe them correctly when I sell them (along with several other more pedestrian toe clips).

While not Christophe, Sugino used a very similar one for their carbon pedals.

These have unusual dustcaps - they snap in; to remove them you use the setscrew in the end to bear against the end of the pedal axle, pushing the cap off. Ofmega also made a quill-pattern pedal that used these caps.
I could use some of those caps, if anyone has them extra....

Well, whenever I walked fix I would not dream of not using clips.

Actually, the clips supplied on the Sintesi pedals were a little bit different from the Christophe. The toe clip strap loop at the top of the clip on those pedals had a riveted pivot that rides in a slot and allows for a bit of sided to side and fore and aft play to accomodate different sheo shapes and sizes. The Sintesi clips also had a satin black finish instead chrome, but maybe the re-branded Avocet version of the pedals did have chrome finish on their clips. The bottom anchoring slot design does look very similar to the CXC clip though.

I think the one with three holes may have been from the Shimano platform pedals from the early and mid'80s. I have the 600EX from my Trek 610 of 1984 and a 105 of similar vintage. If I recall, steel ones were for the 6xxx and 5xxx, while the 7xxx used an aluminum toeclip.

Not sure which toe clips you were referring to with the term "those pedals." I inferred initially that you were referring to the clips for the Sintesi pedals, but after rereading a couple times, I'm not positive. In any case, note that the Christophe toe clip in my original post has a slot which allows the loop to move around.
