Dura-Ace 7400 parts collection

I've accumulated a bunch of DA 7400 parts over the past three years and never done anything with them. I was going to use them on a frame I'm building in Doug Fattic's class, but decided to go in a more Italian direction. Looking around my lair I see no other obvious candidate frames on which to hang these parts (none has turned up in three years, and I'm really trying not to grow the collection), so I decided to sell them to recoup the cost of the Campagnolo bits.

Here's what I have:
  • 7400 crank, dust caps and fixing bolts, plenty of shoe rub, teeth have seen some use
  • Brake levers, dark finish, excellent shape
  • Brake calipers – two sets, one (dark finish) complete, one (light finish) missing an adjuster
  • 7401 rear derailleur (6-7sp?), good shape with a smoewhat worn fuschia Bullseye or similar lower pulley
  • Downtube shift levers – 8sp pod installed, 7sp pod included
  • Two bottom brackets, one Italian, one British, and an extra British spindle and dust cover
  • Two front derailleurs, one braze-on, one clamp-on (missing the clamp bolt), 28.6mm I believe
  • 7400 hubset including skewers, 127mm rear spacing, 32H

Here's the overall picture of the above listed bits.

I have a Flickr album with more up-close pictures as well. Not included in the photo above, but in the Flickr album are:
  • Two MF-7400 7sp freewheels, unused since getting the Freewheel Spa treatment
  • 6207 hubset (no skewers), nice shape 36H, 121 rear spacing.
  • RD-5501 rear derailleur (105?), long cage, graphics gone, a little rash on the upper pivot.

But wait, there's more!

Also included, but not shown, is an RD-7402 rear derailleur (8sp, hidden lower pivot bolt). It's currently partially disassembled at my son's place in Portland. We were toying with the idea of 3D printing a long cage for it, but that didn't happen. When I get it back I will reassemble it, update the thread with a couple pictures and send it along . It's also in nice shape (no road rash).

I'd like to sell the entire lot in one bundle. I'm asking $450 net to me, shipped in US. If it doesn't sell as a single bundle, I'll update the thread with individual prices.

:bump:

A couple people have inquired about subsets of the collection. Feel free to make me an offer on the whole enchilada or express interest in a subset. If nobody buys everything, I'll start to piece it out by the end of the week.

Sorry, forgot to add it here, just on Flickr. They are 175s, with the Shimano de facto standard 53/39 chainrings.

Nobody seems to want the whole collection, so PM me (or email skip.montanaro@gmail.com) with your partial collection interests. Nothing is cast in stone yet, but I'm keeping a list of requests and responding in order.

Thanks, a bit too long for my current preferences. Technically I'm tall and long-legged enough for 175 cranks, and have 'em on a couple of bikes. But at 65 with age, arthritis and injuries, I'm finding shorter cranks easier on my knees and hips.

Come to think of it, I may already have a set of 170 Dura Ace cranks in a box somewhere. I need to dig around. Seems like I had that crankset on my old early 1990s Trek 5900 OCLV, which I haven't ridden since late 2019 when the headset needed work. I completely disassembled that bike and never got around to rebuilding it. I need to do that. It was a great bike. Atrocious purple and brownish-yellow color scheme, but fun to ride. And it looked like something nobody would want to steal, unless they knew the history of that particular model.

('scuse the late response -- feeling kinda puny the past week, some kinda virus, haven't been online much.)

Last :bump: before the bay. Pix are in this Flickr album.

Pricing out the remaining bits:
  • 7400 crank (175s) - $75
  • Brake calipers – two sets $50 each set
  • 7401 rear derailleur (6-7sp?), $40
  • British bottom bracket, and an extra British spindle and dust cover, $40
  • Two front derailleurs, one braze-on, one clamp-on (missing the clamp bolt), $30 each
  • Two MF-7400 7sp freewheels, unused since getting the Freewheel Spa treatment, $30 each
  • 6207 hubset (no skewers), $40 for the pair

Dam! Wish I would have seen this earlier; had those hub bearings proven non pitted I would have bought this entire gruppo from you straight away.
