1972 Peugeot PX-10 Frame and Fork

1972 Peugeot PX-10 frame and fork with original Stronglight bottom bracket and original Stronglight headset. This is a 25” (64cm) frame, no dents and a few paint chips (see photos), the paint is bright and clear, the chrome cleaned up nicely but it’s not 100% perfect throughout. There is no pitting in the bottom bracket or headset races and the original bearings look perfect, I can pack the bearings in the bottom bracket and headset if desired but I left them dissembled for inspection and in case the new owner wanted to build it up themselves.

Price: $300, local pickup from Sacramento, CA area.

Curious about the history. Was the fork rake increased for more low trail?

I'd say that's stock. Both my 72 and 71 look like that.

I don't see evidence of any modifications and I don't think it was ridden much, most of the paint chips look like results from storage. I bought this as a parts bike to help build up a PX-10 in my size from a non-bike person just wanting it out of his garage. It was really grimy when I got it and I was pleasantly surprised that the paint was in such good shape under the dirt.

Yes as ascherer says that’s stock . By 1974 they changed geometry to less fork offset/ steeper head tube angle (I believe 73 instead of 72 degrees). Here my 71 and 74.

71 with nervex pro lugs

74 with Dubois lugs

Could you measure the seatpost diameter before you ship or deliver it?
I have that same frame, year and size and the expected 26.4 post is too big to fit.

Thanks!

26.4 should be correct. Ensure the seatpost hole isn't warped or ovaled and the seat lug ears aren't caved in.
