Regarding low cost jerseys, this year I stopped wearing jerseys all together by opting for Dri-Fit (or similar) shirts. I just find them more comfortable.
Opted for Zoic road cycling shorts too because they and their undergarment have a fly, so Mr Wiggles is accessible.

I picked up a Rapha merino jersey last year on sale from a clearance outlet and it turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. I've worn it in temps from 5-20C in total comfort and it washes great. I've also got a Cannondale mtb shirt that is literally 20 years old and yet refuses to die after maybe 1000 washes! I've seen 6 month old shirts in worse condition.
Based on my first Rapha purchase, I bought a pair of their cargo bibs and a gilet, both of which are awesome. My one and only foray into cheap bibs didn't go well. Ended up with two nasty rubbing scars along the inside of my thighs after a hot 3 hour ride. Plus side to that experience is that I don't now mind spending top money on bibs. I wouldn't say jerseys are anything like as critical, but I do value quality. I have a few Le Col jerseys and bibs, which are also pretty good. But I now prefer the Rapha kit.

I've got a couple of those. Think I paid under $100 for the last one. I also have a Rapha Flyweight jersey from their sale section which cost (if I recall correctly) $64. At those prices, I just shake my head when people recommend buying some Primal Wear monstrosity for $50 or so.

I have a cheap jersey from aliexpress/amazon, branded racmmer. It's not terrible, but if you compare the stitching to a brand name like Castelli, the difference is notable. It only took a couple of rides for the sleeve hem stitching to come apart. The construction quality just isn't going to be as good as some of the major brands

I might need to try one of these soon . I’m still losing weight so don’t want to spend a lot on something that might not be a good fit soon.

I've bought a couple of jerseys from Amazon. While I haven't worn them a lot, they do seem to be of decent quality. The biggest problem about buying Chinese cycling clothing is the sizing. What they consider a large would probably be a small to medium here. Just pay very close attention to the reviews, especially the negative ones.

I get stuck hovering over the BUY button trying to decide which product I will get - the best or the worst!

Reviews remind me of "Tale of Two Cities" - It was the best of times, It was the worst of times. "Best product I've ever purchased. Absolutely perfect." Next review: "I've never received such shoddy merchandise. Just awful!"

After not liking the fit of some cheaper brands, I find myself not wanting to waste my money and stick to the brands that have nice features, wick sweat well, and fit well. I had two Performance ones but they did not wick near as well as the others, I do not hand wash but I use Rapha, Assos, a couple of Specialized, and Castelli. I have a few so I just rotate them and have given up trying the cheaper ones, I use unscented detergent, hang dry, and they seem to last a while. I'm not riding a ton but prob 3,500-4,000 miles with road and MTB combined by year-end. With a toddler, I am super fortunate to get that much.

Amazon is wrong on so many levels. In the retail context, they're aspiring to be a monopoly. The LBS, Universal Cycles, River City Cycles, Bens, etc, all equate to a better option.

How does one send for a jersey?
"You there, peasant, come hither! Fetch me that Rapha jersey!"

Have you never heard of send an order request? My wife has worked in costumer service for years and they received customer order requests every single day. When you order something online, you are sending and order request. If they have it, they send it. If they cannot fulfill your order request, then they can not send it. So everything you send online is actually an order request. He sent an order request for the jerseys. He SENT for them.
Its nearly universal in everything Ive read thats in US style English to say 'bought it online' or 'got it online'.
Again, I understood. It was simply funny to read since its almost totally unused as a phrase and what popped into my head was something from hundreds of years ago.

Not churching anything up. Not sure why you are making a deal about it. Not sure how old you are but before ONLINE, we used to send for things by mail. By way of applications, order forms, so maybe you're too much of a kid to remember that or think it is something people say. Maybe your part of the country is different then mine, just not sure why you want to ridicule one's way of speaking. There is more history to life than the internet.
Now that I see Des Moines on your profile, I can see why you are so limited in everyday phrases.

I am 40 and very much remember life before the internet when sales were through catalogs. Again, it was just funny to see because of the image that popped into mind.
My apologies- I definitely should have just kept the image of a nobleman sending for his jersey in my head.
As for where I have lived and currently live- I have no desire to get into a measuring contest with you.

Ok, my obviously joking post clearly got you riled up a bit.

I can’t fathom anyone thinking that Rapha jerseys aren’t good enough. I have a bunch, and they are as good as any I’ve owned and better than most. And, to relate it to the thread topic, I’d say they have been great values — worth every penny paid and then some.
By the way, I can remember ordering things from the Sears catalog store and then going to pick them up the next week. Do I get some sort of prize? 😀

The meaning of Rapha: One of the names of God is Jehovah Rapha, meaning “the God Who Heals,” with the Hebrew word “rapha” translating to “to completely make whole, to thoroughly mend and repair.”
How is that for "churching" things up. Maybe the Rapha attire just needed some mending and repairing.
Don't go away. I have more fun facts to find the hidden meanings behind cycling attire.
