USD$600+ and Up for a Bike Seat

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't like SMP saddles, they look goofy and I don't find them comfortable.
No padding like this one would only be worse.
At 170gms it is not even light.
Very expensive.
But as everyone says saddles are a personal choice so if you like it.........

Gold Rolex = all bling and no style or imagination. I do like mechanical watches and not totally aversed to Rolex, but not in this format.

Nope. I collect watches with a specific theme and history. Although I did very nearly buy an IWC Spitfire at one point. Anyway here's a few of mine:-

Casio G-Shock DW-5600
Omega Speedmaster X-33
Omega Speedmaster Pro
Sturmanskie 3133 Chronograph
Glycine Airman 18
DOXA Sub 300

Theme above is watches that have all been worn in space at some point.

The X-33 is probably my favourite. I bought it new when they were released to the public in 1999 (previously only available to astronauts/military pilots) and I've only ever seen one other in person ever since. That was in a meeting with Honda F1 engineers about 20 years ago and their chief designer was wearing one. He spotted mine straight away and it made a great ice-breaker!

I didn't ask if you did, but I can just imagine. What you need next is a better camera.

The problem with wearing watches in orbit, is managing all of the time zone changes.

Such a predictable reply! All that gear and yet you manage to post the worst watch photos I've ever seen. I mean they're not even in focus....

Why on earth does anyone have to snaps pics in focus and what does that do with the watches anyways..? Your jumping all over the place tugging at straws....

I think the main advantage to a super expensive saddle is it makes your wallet and overall weight lighter. That could help you shave 10 seconds off your next 2 hour ride. Definitely a positive.

I have to agree... Tacky and just down right gaudy plus do not keep time very good at all.... Great point...

Few folks in my neck of the woods riding on the new Specialized S Works mirror saddles at like $450 they have actually said that they’re incredible. Some others who I ride with that work at the shop mentioned that the tech is really pretty good and will be moving towards custom saddles printed at shops in the future at reasonable prices. Who knows, but I do have an affinity for Specialized saddles and shoes. If I could demo one of these I’d be more prone to purchase is I liked the fit.

trekmogul, happy that you’re feeling well and riding again. Are you able to make your annual pilgrimages, or has the pandemic put an end to that? Stay safe, be well, and enjoy life!
