Heh. I was last there in 2013. A bunch of us went to the Italian Cycling Center for a couple of weeks, which is located just outside of Bassano del Grappa. The weather was crappy one day so some of us took the bus into Bassano and then the train to Venice. Only about an 1.25 hr. ride. The GF had never been there. We took a vaporetta way out to the tip and wandered back to the train station, stopping for a wonderful lunch at a place someone had recommended. Walking over the Acadamie Bridge my wallet fell out of my pocket. All of a sudden I heard an Italian woman yelling "Scuze!". Turned around and saw her running towards me, her cell phone in one hand, my wallet in the other. Even the on and off rain didn't spoil the day.

The plan starting next Sunday:
Dashboard · Ride with GPS
Train to Woodcrest then ride to Wharton State Forest. I have never camped there.
Day 2 to Belleplain State Forest. I have been there so many times one of the rangers recognizes my name on the reservation list.
Day 3 to Cape May to catch the ferry to Lewes for two nights at and Cape Henlopen State Park, a former military base that was donated to the state after WWII and turned into a park. (DE riding not shown on the map). Great bike infrastructure within the park and surrounding area. Extremely popular place, even at this time of year. Large campground booked solid for the weekend.
Day 5: Early ferry back to Cape May then up the coast to AC for a train home. The map is wonky in the Erma/Rio Grande area because Google Maps has not been updated to show some relatively new recreation path/trail mileage. Hoping for a nice tailwind up the coast. Also hoping the weather cooperates.
