How well does the Holdworth 48/34 crankset shift with a 8 speed chain? How about a 9 speed chain?

I'm running an 8sp chain on a 6/7 friction drivetrain - it runs&shifts beautifully. But I put 8sp chains on all my 5/6/7 transmissions.

I have 2 sets. One on my PX-10. I think it looks and performs very well. Also a comparison photo

I've found that it works great on pretty well anything.
I've got it on a modern 10 speed and a 5 speed, both shift perfectly. Unfortunately Planet X must have got their inventory down to where they want it cause it's not cheap anymore - around 80 £.

Planet X has reduced the price at the moment - 66.66 £. Not cheap but cheaper. Ordered another one along with BB and alloy dust caps.

I have one of the Holdsworth replica cranksets with the drilled rings. It looks near identical to the SR chainset originally fitted on my 1981 Holdsworth Special, now restored. Although Holdsworth used lots of Campag on this bike (hubs, mechs, pedals, gear levers) the brakes were Universal 77s and the chainset as above.
