Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks FMW, I was able to weight it only with a bathroom scale method. By as best as I could tell its somewhere between 16-17lbs.

The Eurus wheels have Record Hubs, and do they ever sound Great! They have this very fine ratchet sound that I have never heard the likes of before. It's as if they have a Gazillion pawls in there

Seeing as it is "Post Your Titaniums"

This is My Titanium Leatherman Charge Multi-Tool and Titanium MSR Spoon that doubles as a backpacking stove tool. I love that spoon, it's my lucky amulet in the back country

Darn, I can't play. Mine is only semi-Ti and has been at the paintshop for 20 full months now.

I guess that's appropriate, since you only semi-own it.

Maybe it'll show up for the STP - but then you'll have to ride with a phalanx of blocking riders to ensure noone comes within 10' of it lest it be gazed upon by the unworthy.

Ti is Ti, so what if your ratios are a little disproportionate....

Hmmm, not sure how to take that comment since I love riding ti but I also like paint on it. Nothing gaudy though.

Ah yes, the Holy Grail of bikes on BF.net. A bike which we all know exists, but is in the periphery of our eyes, never to be truly seen head on in all its glory. Perhaps one day, when/if it makes its debut, it will be like the second coming, for all to bow down and praise in our lycra, "We're not worthy!!!"

P.S. something is coming.

That's fine too, no exclusion was intended in my comment, rather it seems Ti bikes are a tight knit family in some sense, painted or not (typical), they just seem more cut from the same cloth, much like an Airstream trailer There is a strong family resemblance in Ti bikes from different makers, more than is typical in painted steel or even nude carbon bikes. Maybe its all just in my head, and that si just my thoughts on it

Here you go:

https://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...6&d=1143484594

1995 ibis Titanium Road. Refinished recently by Tom Kellog of Spectrum Cycles (clear over raw Ti). Full Dura Ace, FSA cockpit (carbon bars), Mavic Kysirium SL wheelset, USE Alien seatpost, Specialized Alias 143 saddle.

Approx 17.5 lbs. without hardly any particularly trick lightweight parts (outside of that seatpost I suppose). Rides like BUTTAH weenies.

I was asked in a PM if I had a Titanium Watch to go with my Titanium (And Carbon Fiber ) fetish. So yes actually I do. It's not a terribly expensive Titanium watch, however it was given to me by my best buddy for being his best man, 4 years ago. When he gave it to me he said this watch represents things that we hold dear, that being Titanium and Carbon fiber So it is a special watch to me

Plus I have 2 Titanium pins holding my right ankle together

Jessica might have a bike to add here soon. I'm considering a Serotta Fierte along with the other choices by Trek and Lemond. We'll see how it pans out.

I love my new Cannondale Six13. GREAT racing bike. But the bike that will get the bulk of my training miles is the Ibis Ti. Man that bike is schweet. Great to have it back on the road with new components. It's like having a brand new Seven Cycles or IF. But of course like NOBODY else has one. And it does look brandy new. Even though it's really 11 years old. How cool is that? That's over the top weenie OCP stuff. And I love it.

The Fierte with Ti and Carbon tubes is a steal for ~$3500 (Ultegra 10), If Jess hasn't tested that one , she should the ride is fantastic.
