Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road ahead and a bonus road behind. A bit of rain. Not much but my quick release fenders helped keep me drier. Easy slow ride on the rail trail. D

Indian Head rail trail. Just repaved last summer. It's not crowded when the weather is damp, over 90 F or cold. I stayed off the wet roads. I'm up there quite often until I retire. I have ridden the Cap Trail. From the James City County court house both directions for +50 miles rides. Then pieces. Would be nice to ride from Yorktown to Richmond but have to get the SO to drop me off and pick me up.

Im in Williamsburg, message me if you ever come my way and we can ride together. I’ve did the Richmond ride with Whyfi back in April and have ridden it quite a few times since.
Sometimes I ride down to Newport News, Hampton and come back through Yorktown.

Rode on the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday on an absolutely perfect fall day. This is one of the great cycling roads in the world and I will not accept any debate on this.

Some amazing pics in the posts above by other riders

Did another km century today. Found some awesome new routes (without navigation).
Also, 6 centuries in the last 5 weeks including today.
